This is how to do a big bang on VM when the source is elsewhere (E.g. on Keykos)
Produce tape on system with sources:
KERNLINK GNOSIS VM CHECK FT BOOT
LOADMOD GNOSIS
START (Wait for "VM READ" on screen.)
Get symbols and set breakpoints
init;g (this may require nearly 200 sec of CPU time a 1 MIPS machine)
The tape is written
Suggestion: Re IPL 190 before bringing up VM!
Attach a tape drive with the reel to KEYKOS1 as 181
DEF STOR 4M (for good performance)
i 181
Don't do kernsyms before tables have been allocated.
When all goes well you can dial into KEYKOS1 and then log into SYSADMIN. If less goes well you can log into SYSTOOL with password "INITIAL".
