Factory Structure

A factory is composed of:
19 (_.components){(comp)} which are keys,

a set of .holes which are keys,

a requestor-type, a starting address, and a hole capacity ... which are non-negative integers < 2**32,

an ordinal which is a 32-bit integer,

A key called its factory-brand,

a meter,

a domain creator which is either "its own" or is a key to the domain creator of another factory.

A factory is either nascent or complete.
{nonref}A factory is nascent when it is created. At some point it becomes complete and remains so until it is destroyed. A nascent factory can get new .holes but a complete factory cannot.

A component is a key.

Component 16 is referred to as the "keeper".

Component 17 is referred to as the ".program". There are these cases:

If the .program is a memory key, the factory will cause a new domain to have that key as its address segment and the domain's PSW to be at the "starting address".

The .program may be a factory requestor's key {e.g., a VCSF} that produces a memory key which is used as above.

The program may be an l-seg factory and the starting address -1 or -3.

This case was designed to invoke the procedure described at (getseg) to build an address segment using the binder.

If the starting address is -3 then the requestor provides only one bank which must be prompt.

Component 18 is referred to as the "symbol segment".
