This page
follows many links before displaying the “5-Day Forecast”.
With either Safari 4β or WebKit r41379 and my AT&T WiFi DSL service (with a 2Wire modem) it usually takes a minute or more for that information to be displayed.
Most pages of the NY Times are also slow, but not quite so bad.
The trouble is more ‘reliable’ with weather.
I have 3 Mb/s download bandwidth and single large files arrive reliably at about 2.6 Mb/s.
“5-Day Forecast” takes about 5 sec to display when I use either:
- Safari 4β or WebKit r41379 with my neighbor's WiFi DSL Speakeasy service
 or
- Firefox 3.0.5 with my own DSL service.
My neighbor's Speakeasy service, like my own, uses AT&T's ‘last mile’ ATM.
