I must record somewhere a comment that <a href=http://genealogy.math.ndsu.nodak.edu/html/id.phtml?id=25362>Sullivan (Sully) Graham Campbell</a> made in 1960 about Richard Nixon.
Sully said in 1960 that Nixon, if elected president, would go to China.
I don’t know whether Sully thought that this would be a good idea but I remember it because it seemed very bizarre to me.
I recall that most of the world was surprised when Nixon finally did go to China (1972).
